When I work with young athletes, I see how they expect quick results. As a young athlete, I expected them too. I wanted to rapidly increase my weighted pull-up strength, finger strength, and other power metrics. However, over time, I realized that working on strength indicators can be compared to building a house.
First, the construction site is prepared, the concrete is poured, and you wait for TIME to pass so it can settle. This creates solid foundations that will serve as the base for sturdy walls.
It is the same in strength training: it takes TIME to build the groundwork for consistent growth without injuries or stagnation.
